Well here at USU basketball is a big thing and playing BYU for basketball is an even bigger thing! (I know I have family affiliated with the Y so forgive me for my bias to my University!!) So for some reason BYU refused to play here in Logan at the Spectrum (something about them being too scared of our crowd!!! ha ha), so instead we compromised and the game was held in Salt Lake at the Energy Solutions Arena. Since BYU refused to come up to the Spectrum, we decided to bring the Spectrum to them :) There were 2,000 tickets that quickly sold out for USU students and thanks to some of my wonderful friends who generously stood in a very long line of anticipation, we were on the 14th row!! It was great! A bunch of us drove down a couple hours before the game and went shopping around Gateway before getting all decked out and heading to the game! Of course along with the excitement and energy we as students also brought our not-so-good sportsmanship like attitudes in forms of posters, chants, and even attire... the majority of us students showed up in navy blue t-shirts that say, "YBU? Win or Lose You still live in Provo... 'nuff said" ha ha We're so kind I know, but it was an intense game and sadly we lost by a very close few points. But totally showing up the BYU student section as far as noise levels go was so worth it!! ha ha Aftwerwards we went downtown to Temple Square and did the whole Christmas Light thing! It was great fun and super cold! We ended the night at Applebee's with a delicious dinner! Of course we then had a long drive back to Logan but we keep eachother entertained so it wasn't too bad! It was a fun day of many memories, and it was a good short break before finals week!
